Mongabay in the news, May 2017

May 2017 saw a surge in coverage of our work in Southeast Asia thanks to the celebration of Mongabay-Indonesia’s 5th anniversary. Also in May a Mongabay investigation concerning the role of illegal chainsaws in Myanmar’s ongoing logging controversy appeared in numerous regional publications from The News Lens to Frontier Myanmar and The Irrawaddy, plus a recent Mongabay feature by correspondent William Clowes (“Conserving Congo’s wild places on a shoestring”) was republished by Slate and the popular journal of food, politics, travel, and culture, Roads and Kingdoms.
