Erin has been writing for Mongabay since June 2014. Growing up at the base of Sequoia National Park, Erin discovered a love for nature at a very young age. Graduating from UC San Diego with a degree in Environmental Science, Erin went to work for an environmental toxicology lab/ consulting firm. In an effort to get outdoors and closer to nature while continuing to do science, Erin moved to South Florida in July of 2014 to start an internship in fisheries biology at Everglades National Park. In her free time she enjoys rock climbing, kayaking and SCUBA.
