MATTHEW REED

Matt is a biologist from Nashville, Tennessee. He studied aquatic biology and conservation, environmental policy, science communication, and global natural resource issues at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and received a master’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science in 2014. Over the past several years, he’s worked as a research and teaching assistant, and aquatic biologist specializing in freshwater fish and mussel ecology. He’s currently in the midst of a year spent traveling with his wife, Taylor, in South America, where he’s worked on a variety of natural resource conservation projects in both the Andean and Amazonian bioregions. Matt is an avid outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, fly fishing, and backpacking during his free time.
