MEGAN MAHER

Megan_Maher_photoMegan is from Sleepy Hollow, NY and is a recent graduate of Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. This is also where she is currently studying for her Master of Science degree in interactive media. She has a passion for photography and traveling and had the opportunity to study abroad in Grenoble, France, which helped her gain a conversational fluency in French. With her education and experience she hopes to pursue a career in social media or communications.

Mongabay.com has been a part of Megan’s family for years. Her mother is the staff photographer for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and has contributed photos and content to the site. As a result, she has had the privilege of practically growing up at places such as the Bronx Zoo, surrounded by animals and wildlife. She even worked in the Children’s Zoo where she took care of domestic and exotic animals. Since she was young she has been writing about interesting animals and places, even for Mongabay.com. Megan has even traveled to developing countries to help WCS document their conservation programs in Zambia, Ecuador, and the Cayman Islands.
