Sophie grew up in the UK and after an undergraduate degree in French and a postgraduate course in Broadcast Journalism she had a moment of madness and moved to Indonesia. It was here whilst working for an international research organization that she developed an interest in environmental matters and (slowly) overcame her irrational fear of anything you wouldn’t generally find in the British countryside.

After traveling to Kalimantan and producing her first video on the ways forest monitoring could help curb climate change, she knew that this is what she wanted to carry on doing.

Sophie currently lives in French Guiana doing freelance work whilst trying  to survive another tropical climate. In her personal time she enjoys hiking, Pilates, cooking, photography, reading and binging on box sets. She still goes out of her way to avoid wasps.
