Special reporting initiatives
The special reporting initiatives program offers opportunities for freelance reporting on specific environmental issues. Each project includes a 3-month reporting stipend and travel budget.
In the second half of 2013, Mongabay.org will announce (via the web page, newsletter, and social media channels) three special reporting initiative projects. The application window for these projects will be open for two months. An independent selection panel comprised of journalists and issue area experts will evaluate all the pitches that are submitted during this period.
The "special reporting initiatives" program is one of mongabay.org's main areas of concentration.
