About
I’m an academic-turned-science writer and newsroom leader passionate about impactful storytelling and science communication. With a PhD in butterfly ecology and evolution, I transitioned from research to popular science communication. As a freelance science journalist, I contributed to Indian and international publications on science and the environment. I co-founded Research Matters to help academic institutions better engage with the public. Currently, I’m the Programme Director at Mongabay India, where I develop growth plans and strategies for the India team and its staff. Working closely with the editorial director and the larger team, my role spans team building, fundraising, project planning, and optimizing workflows, all while maintaining Mongabay’s high standards of journalism. I bring a scientific lens to storytelling and have a strong interest in digital outreach and platform analytics.
