With Mongabay’s Network Program, Holly oversees our fellowship and professional development opportunities for journalists, coordinates our engagement in events, and contributes to marketing and outreach, impact tracking, development, and partnerships.
She brings to Mongabay 20 years of non-profit experience, including several organizational leadership and management roles. Focused primarily on the nexus of human rights and conservation, she has worked with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, grassroots civil society organizations, global networks, and funders around the world.
As a freelance journalist, her writing has been featured in Nonprofit Quarterly, The Philanthropist Journal, Alliance Magazine, National Parks Magazine, Washington City Paper, and more. She has a bachelor’s degree in zoology and anthropology, a master’s in public international law, and a certificate in multimedia journalism. Born and raised in Canada, she has lived in South Africa, Tajikistan, and Malaysian Borneo.
