Erik Hoffner

Erik is a senior editor at Mongabay covering various topics, from marine issues to sustainable agriculture and solutions, and he has also served as the organization’s podcast producer and impact editor. He’s worked as an environmental journalist since 2005, writing for The Guardian, National Geographic News Watch, Earth Island Journal, Yale Environment 360, and Grist among others. Erik is also a photographer whose work has been exhibited widely and has been added to numerous public and private collections, including the Bates Museum of Art. Previous to Mongabay he served as columnist, outreach coordinator and podcast host for Orion magazine.
