Sharon Guynup

Sharon Guynup is an environmental journalist, editor, photographer and producer. Her work is featured in outlets including Mongabay, National Geographic, The New York Times, Scientific American, The Harvard Revue, and Smithsonian. Her investigative work shuttered wildlife trafficking venues including the Thai Tiger Temple and helped pass The U.S. Big Cat Public Safety Act. Honors include The Eliza Scidmore Award for Outstanding Storytelling and the Arlene Award for “an article that makes a difference.” Sharon was named a Changemaker by New York University, is a National Geographic Explorer, lived in Turkey as a Fulbright Scholar and served as a global fellow with the Wilson Center’s environment program. Sharon has produced video, TV, and film projects, including TRAFFICKED with Mariana van Zeller. She’s authored “Tigers Forever: Saving the World’s Most Endangered Big Cat,” “The Ultimate Book of Big Cats,” and the forthcoming “Big Cats,” and created “The State of the Wild” book series for the Wildlife Conservation Society.
