The experts
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka
Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka is founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH), an award-winning NGO that protects endangered gorillas and other wildlife through One Health approaches. She is also the founder of Gorilla Conservation Coffee, which supports farmers living around gorilla habitats. She is a National Geographic Explorer, an Ashoka fellow and Mulago Foundation Henry Arnhold fellow and also a member of the World Health Organisation Special Advisory Group for the Origin of Novel Pathogens.
Linus Unah
Linus Unah is a Nigerian journalist and producer largely focused on wildlife conservation, environmental science, and development. His work has appeared on Al Jazeera, The Guardian, NPR, National Public Radio, TRT World, Devex, The New Humanitarian (formerly IRIN News), and several others. Unah is currently a second-year documentary student at the University of California, Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.
Dr. Erik Meijaard
Dr. Erik Meijaard is a conservation scientist and practitioner with long-term experience working in the Asian tropics. He is director of Borneo Futures in Brunei Darussalam, and an honorary professor at the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology in Canterbury, UK. Dr. Meijaard also co-chairs the IUCN Oil Crops Task Force and has long-term experience working on the science and practice of the production of vegetable oils. He is an avid writer both in popular and scientific media, focusing on wildlife conservation challenges, including frequent writings about orangutans.
