Latin America Bureau

In 2016, Mongabay launched its second bureau, a Spanish-language news service covering environmental issues in Latin America. Mongabay Latam has built a correspondent network in 11 Latin American countries, established partnerships with over 20 regional media outlets, and inspired an audience now in the millions per year. Reflective of a growing prominence as a respected and reliable source of environmental news in Latin America, Mongabay’s stories have spurred judicial authorities to open investigations and its staff has been contacted by other media outlets for their expertise in environmental issues.
