Jim began as an intern for Mongabay in January 2018. Professionally, Jim has a background in digital marketing working in copywriting, website management and social media. Jim holds a BA in Business Studies from the University of the West of England and an MSc in Conservation and Land Management from the University of Bangor.

During his degrees, Jim has studied a game reserve established as a social
enterprise in South Africa and investigated potential disease transmission between wood mice (Apodemus sylvaticus) and the endangered red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) in the UK.

Having been privileged to experience a number of wild places around the world Jim now plans to follow his passion and pursue a career in environmental journalism.
