MEGHAN GILBERT

MeghanGilbert_PicMeghan grew up in a family with a parent in the Armed Forces, and had the privilege of traveling around the world during her childhood to countries including Turkey, Japan, and Australia. She holds a degree in History from the University of Maryland, and recently completed a two-year teaching commitment where she taught first grade in Memphis, Tennessee. Her experiences in Memphis made her realize her passion for environmental issues. She decided to return to school to pursue a degree in Geography with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She aims to utilize GIS to assist in addressing the impact of environmental changes on communities and ecosystems.

Meghan currently lives near Washington, D.C. and the Chesapeake Bay. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, swimming, and hiking with her friends and her dog, Leela. She also plays the clarinet and saxophone, and is attempting to learn how to play the piano.
