Alex is a journalist with a background combining environmental science, social policy and European studies. In recent years, she has been exploring questions regarding the impact of global supply chains on agriculture and the environment in Europe and Latin America; her most recent trip to Mexico has revolved around the surge in avocado demand around the world and its social, economic and environmental consequences in the country’s avocado growing regions. In 2011, she received a master’s degree in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford, which opened her eyes on the importance of translating science to the general public through high quality reporting and storytelling.
