Michael Kavate has been a staff writer at Inside Philanthropy since 2020. He covers climate grantmaking and billionaire philanthropy, focusing on American foundations and donors. He earlier spent seven years at Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, where he co-wrote multiple reports and sign-on letters and was part of the founding team of the UndocuFund.
